Welcome to the World of Mytho
The vast magical lands of the Enchanted Wilds hold adventure around every corner. Partly a game, partly a storytelling experience, Mytho lets kids become the hero of a world they can explore and impact. Sign up for a class, create a hero character, assemble a team of friends signing in from all over the country, and then you’ll be set for adventure. Each game is hosted and narrated by our expert game masters who you can learn more about by scrolling through this page.
This cycle we’re offering multiple after-school campaigns! New players can try out the game for the first time, and returning adventurers can experiment with our new classes and powers that we’ve introduced to the game for this season.

What’s your Mytho-Master style?
“My style is world-driven. I try to craft fun, real-feeling worlds through big and fun character voices, flexing my improvisational skills and helping my players flex theirs! I want all my players to walk away feeling like they’re truly the Heroes of every campaign we play together.”
Taran Lopez
What’s your Mytho-Master style?
“As an illustrator I’m very visual, so I like to use a lot of images to help my players immerse themselves in the story. One of my favorite elements is role-play, helping players work out their character’s personality and quirks. I’m also a big fan of game battles (Child of Ares!) and miiiight be known for enjoying catching players in quite a few traps 😉 I hope my players leave class having laughed a lot, learned something new, and ready to tackle whatever hurdles they have ahead of them.”
John Smith
What’s your Mytho-Master style?
“I love to embrace the chaotic and kooky sides of mythology in my campaigns. I do that by giving my players a lot of freedom to interact with the world. They want to turn against the gods and murder Jason from the Argonauts in a rental home in New Jersey? I’m cool with that! They want to fight the Sun? Sure, I don’t always know how they will do that, but I’ll always let them try. I love helping players create their Hero’s personalities and quirks and helping them establish their lines in the sand on what godly shenanigans they can take that day. I want to leave my players feeling epic, and just a tiny bit shocked at how wild the campaign actually got.”
Mina Guadalupe
What’s your Mytho-Master style?
“Whether I’m running a module or running homebrew, I always has a heavy focus on roleplay and outcomes (consequences or rewards). Players should always be given the option to find peaceful and clever ways to get through a situation. After all, they are heroes! I like to encourage my players to think outside the box and have fun becoming their character. It makes for a more immersive game and that’s my primary goal as a game master.”
Simon Alexander
What’s your Mytho-Master style?
“I try to really paint a picture for my players through voices, details, and a healthy amount of pantomime. Humans have been immersing each other in fantasy stories next to campfires since the dawn of time with no more than the five senses and a good sense of humor. I try to carry on the traditions of the ancient epic poets, bards, and silly voice enthusiasts who made these mythological stories we retell so iconic. With a shout in a deep demonic voice here, or a squeaky goblin impression there, plus everything you’ve ever wanted to know about the inside of a haunted dungeon’s cheese pantry (especially the smell), I bring the players into the story with an epic tale starring them!“
Johnny Kavanagh
What’s your Mytho-Master style?
“The rule of cool is the king of the castle! Especially when playing with kids I think the most important thing about role playing games is making sure everyone at the table is having fun, even (or especially) if that means adapting to letting some crazy stuff happen! This doesn’t mean there’s no consequences though, so give it a shot, it could be cool or the guards might arrest you! I love getting to immerse myself and players whether it’s in intense combat or hilarious role play. Making use of grand descriptions and fun character voices is one of my favorite things about the game!“
FAQ’s
What is the difference between Mytho: the Game and Mytho x D&D?
Mytho: the Game refers to our homemade TTRPG, which uses its own system that is similar to but different from Dungeons & Dragons. It was crafted as a simpler, age-appropriate alternative to the more adult/older kid-oriented Dungeons & Dragons-style experience.
Mytho x D&D refers to our special pilot program that combines the core rules of Dungeons & Dragons with the Mythoverse, our official campaign setting. We have adapted some of our beloved Mytho classes, species, and concepts (like parent/patron gods) to be compatible with the Dungeon & Dragon 5th Edition ruleset. What we are offering this cycle is far from complete and more like we’re dipping our toes into this world before diving in!
What are the recommended ages for Mytho: the Game and Mytho x D&D?
Great question!
Mytho: the Game is meant to be enjoyed by players ages 8 – 13, but we strongly recommend experienced/older TTRPG players to sign up for Mytho x D&D. Mytho: the Game is amazing, but it is made with younger players in mind – therefore the gameplay may be a little too simple for some.
Mytho x D&D is meant to be enjoyed by ages 11 – 15, due to the complexity of the game’s rules and mode of play. For this reason, we are not allowing players below 11 to sign up, and we strongly advise brand-new TTRPG players to give Mytho: the Game a try!
Is it a different story/campaign each day?
Yes. Different stories under the same theme.
What if my child can’t do all six weeks?
Missing one or two sessions it is no big deal! However, if it seems like they are going to miss 3 or more, then I would suggest holding off until the next cycle so that your young player isn’t lost!
Do Mytho x D&D’s campaigns last as long as Mytho: the Game?
Not yet! As of right now, Mytho x D&D runs for five weeks while Mytho: the Game runs for 6.
What if my child has never played this before?
Don’t worry! The first session of each campaign is called Session 0. During this time, the players will be taken through a quick tutorial of sorts that allows them to learn about our campaign setting, the Mythoverse, and how to play the game. This Session 0 will be a place where players are encouraged to create their characters together, help each other design their amazing backstories, and get comfortable with one another.
They can also inform their Mytho-Master what kind of experience they want to have! Like, do they want something more serious and intense, like an action movie; or do they want something super chaotic and silly!
Are Summer campaigns 6 weeks long?
Nope! Summer campaigns last a single week and run Monday – Friday (save for our mini-campaign week, which only runs for 3 days)!

Parent Testimonials
“He had his first Mythomagic session today and LOVED it! I could hear him laughing, cheering, and shouting with delight. Afterwards, he had a big smile and when I asked how it went, he said ‘it was great!’ Then his face fell and he said ‘I wish I could do it again tomorrow…’ So we’re looking forward to Thursday.” -Chris
“I cannot tell you how impressed I am with this program and your instructors. The way the teachers handle [the students], with patience and kindness, is beyond impressive. Thank you!!” -Marne
“Thank you and the whole Plato Learning team so much again for providing this camp as an invaluable social and intellectual outlet for kids during this very tough time!” -Alison
“Of all the programs we tried this summer our daughter enjoyed yours the most. It was great how the counselors interacted with the kids and how much fun everyone was having. The social interaction between all the kids was great too. I think my daughter is going to look back as this was the camp half blood summer not the covid summer and that’s awesome!!! This is her telling us this!” -Survey Parent
“Not only was it the most engaging online class of all the fun things we tried to do online, but he was so excited about the mythomagic game that the rest of the family (included extended family over zoom) created their own characters and he got us together for mythomagic quests of his own invention. His 5 year old bother got excited about it too and spent hours being creative with mythology image printouts outside of the family games. Finally, [he] loved the Percy jackson series before, but with this additional dimension he also finished every other Rick Riordan book in print this summer!” -Judy
