Dear Demigods,
Our 2022 Covid Safety Policies
Protecting our Realm
As we welcome our demigods and staff back to our world in 2022, safety continues to be our top priority. Since 2020, Plato Learning camps have not experienced any outbreaks at our summer camp programs. We’ve followed state, federal, and local mandates for masking, vaccines, disinfecting, screening, and testing procedures since the start of the pandemic and will continue following state and local guidelines provided by each state’s Health Departments.
All staff will have obtained COVID safety training prior to the start of camp to ensure that everyone is following these COVID protocols while on Camp. The following COVID-19 2022 plan is designed to minimize exposure and maximize fun.
What is the Camp’s Vaccination Policy?
- We are requesting that all campers be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Per CDC guidelines,
- Vaccinations are strongly encouraged for all eligible individuals ages 5+.
- Boosters are strongly encouraged for all eligible individuals ages 12+.
- Per CDC guidelines,
- In summer 2021, 96% of all Plato Learning camp staff were fully vaccinated. We anticipate being at this same level or higher for summer 2022.
- Parents will be asked to upload their children’s vaccination cards via their Campsite (Parent Dashboard)
Screening & Testing
- Vaccinated campers and staff will be required to test weekly and notify camp of any positive results
- Unvaccinated are required to present a negative home or lab PCR / antigen COVID-19 test upon their arrival at Camp.
- This test should be administered within 72 hours of arrival at camp each week (Mondays).
- We ask all campers and staff to self-monitor for symptoms.
- All campers and staff are required to take our prescreen questionnaire on Monday mornings.
What about Masks?
- As mask mandates continue to evolve, we will continue to follow the CDC and States Health Department guidelines.
- Outdoors: At this time, masks are OPTIONAL during outdoor programming but welcome for any and all who feel most comfortable wearing one.
- We strongly encourage masking for individuals who are not fully vaccinated.

-
- Per current State and Local guidelines we are not requiring social distancing outdoors and / or pods this summer.
Covid Related Illnesses and Procedures
- General Rule: Campers and staff should stay home if sick
-
- Including Covid related illnesses
- Including Covid related illnesses
- Campers and staff who test positive for Covid should
-
- Stay Home
- Inform their Camp Director
- Parents can reach out to info@plato-learning.com to coordinate a credit
- Isolate according the guidelines below
- Demigod must obtain a negative covid test before returning to camp.
- Campers and staff who have been exposed to someone who tested positive or is awaiting the results of a Covid test should:
-
- Inform their Camp Director
- Get a Rapid Covid test within 24hrs.
- A negative test result is needed in order to return to camp
- Due to the nature of possible late symptoms showing up, when returning, the camper / employee must wear a face covering at all times while at camp. Masking is no longer warranted after the 5th day if there are no signs of symptoms
If a camper begins to feel sick at camp, they will be sent to the health care isolation area, given the appropriate PPE and the demigod will be required to be picked up immediately. It is the parent’s duty to inform the camp the results of the COVID test immediately. They will not be permitted to return until they present a negative test if they are showing symptoms of COVID-19.
- In the event of an outbreak (high percentages of participants with positive Covid test results) parents will be informed (via email) to have their campers tested for COVID-19, watch for symptoms, and campers and staff will be required to wear masks.
- Should guidelines change families will be notified and the program will be adjusted accordingly.
A legendary summer, full of excitement and magic, is on the horizon waiting to be explored. With the bravery of our Demigods and with your continued help, we’ll have a fantastic and safe summer as we did in 2020 and 2021!
Sincerely,
The Plato Learning Team
