The Comeback Kids Edition
Dear Mythik Camps Families,
As we head into our 15th summer at Mythik Camps, I write to you with a sense of gratitude on behalf of our entire team. Thinking back on this journey, we are steadfast in our passion and humbled by our community’s commitment that allows us to help young people foster their relationship with literacy and creativity.
I have seen kids break out of their shells, make new friends, become leaders, display tremendous storytelling abilities, and so much more. Seeing kids find their inner heroes over the course of a summer is one of the best things about coming up from the Underworld for this half of the year. It’s also what’s drawn the rest of the Mythik Camps team to this work: fostering imagination and helping kids build confidence, leadership, and life skills beyond camp.
You trust us to help your kids navigate the monsters of their world – mythical and mundane – and we are truly grateful for the opportunity.

REQUIRED FOR DEMIGODS
- A camp T-shirt
- Comfortable and durable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty
- Closed-toed, rubber-soled shoes
ITEMS YOUR DEMIGODS WILL NEED EVERY DAY
- Camp sword (we provide one per camp season)
- Lunch, preferably in an insulated bag with an ice pack (we provide snacks in the morning and afternoon)
- A large water bottle that can be refilled throughout the day
- Sunscreen
RECOMMENDED ITEMS FOR YOUR DEMIGOD'S BACKPACK
- A blanket or towel to sit on
- A pencil and/or pen
- Markers or colored pencils
- Safe scissors Insect repellent

- An umbrella, poncho, or rain jacket on days with a chance of light rain

Drop-off & Location
Discover the sacred grounds of your demigod’s camp, where you’ll find all the essential details for safely delivering and picking up your hero.
- Drop-off for all Camp Jupiter locations: 8:45-9:00 am*
- Pick-up for all Camp Jupiter locations: 4:00 pm*
If your camper is enrolled in a Jupiter hometown at all other locations, please refer to the Camp Half-Blood “Drop-off and locations” details.
D.C. LOCATION
- Washington, DC (Rock Creek Park): June 24, 2024 - August 9, 2024
- Location/program: Camp Jupiter DC
- Address or other details: Picnic Grove Number 6 in Rock Creek Park
- Drop-off and pick-up: Picnic Grove #6, 696 Beach Dr NW, Washington, DC 20012
- Rainy day location: Freedom Church DC, 4420 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008
NEW JERSEY LOCATION
- Maplewood, NJ (South Mountain Reservation): July 1, 2024 - August 16, 2024
- *Maplewood, NJ location will have staggered drop-off to prevent a back-up of traffic.
- Please plan to drop-off your Jupiter Maplewood camper at 9:15 AM and pick them up at 4:15 PM.
- If you have multiple campers attending two programs in Maplewood, NJ (e.g. Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood), you can drop-off and pick-up your campers in the earlier of the two assigned time slots.

- Rainy day location: The LeFrak Center in Prospect Park
Rainy Days
If Zeus’s anger causes heavy, steady rain or thunder and lightning (very, very frightening!), camp will be held at our designated indoor location.
- You will receive an email (and a text, for those who have opted into text messaging) no later than 7:00 am to let you know if drop-off is being moved to the rainy day location.
- On these days, the pick-up location will be determined by the camp director and you will be notified up to an hour before pick-up.
- To receive updates via text, OPT INTO TEXT MESSAGING by going to your CampSite profile and selecting “Opt into text message notifications” in the My Account tab.

Health & Safety
Health Form
- All campers in NY and NJ must have a Health Examination Form on file BEFORE THE START OF CAMP. Health forms completed in the last 12 months for school and/or extracurriculars may be submitted.
- You can access this form (and all other forms) via the CampSite Parent Dashboard. After logging in, select the Forms tab to view all outstanding forms.
Medication and Allergies
- If your camper takes a daily medication or has an allergy, please be sure to include this information on their Summer Registration Information Form via CampSite.
- All medications must be logged with the Camp Director at the start of each day. Emergency medications (rescue inhalers, Epi-Pens, etc.) will remain with your camper.

When are drop-in days for Summer 2024?
Drop-in will be available for Brooklyn programs for the first three weeks of the summer (June 17-21, June 24-28, July 1-5). Please note that camp will not be in operation on Wednesday, June 19 or Thursday, July 4.
How much does drop-in cost?
Drop-in costs $145 per day!
Which locations offer drop-in days?
For Summer 2024, drop-in days are only available at our Brooklyn, NY locations (Camp Half-Blood Brooklyn, Camp Jupiter Brooklyn, Daring Girls Brooklyn). We hope to offer drop-in options at additional locations for Summer 2025.
Are drop-in days offered every day of the week?
Yes, drop-in will be available every day camp is in operation for the first three weeks of the summer in Brooklyn, NY (June 17-21, June 24-28, July 1-5). When registering for drop-in, please keep in mind that the majority of our demigods attend camp for the entire week and will be well-acquainted by the final days of the week. For first-time campers, we recommend scheduling your drop-in for earlier in the week (Monday or Tuesday) as opposed to later.
Do we have to buy a sword for drop-in days?
We will have loaner swords available for demigods to use throughout the day if you would prefer not to purchase a sword for drop-in. Please note that loaner swords must be returned to staff at the end of the day and cannot be decorated.
Can we make a friend request for drop-in days?
Unfortunately, we are unable to take friend requests for drop-in days.
